Hello all, Following is a recap of last Thursday's class.

For discussion, I would like you to walk through the basic concepts we discussed in sampling. First, come up with a research question or hypothesis. Then, state what is your (a) target population, (b) your survey population, and (c) what you would use for your sampling frame.

Target population: all US Couples according to the US census bureau (millions)

Survey population: Stratified Random Sample of couples at every income level assessed from the US census bureau

Sampling frame: list of all couples in each sample category, ie—low income, middle income, high income

What effect does eating a high caloric/fat meal have on weight gain and exercise?

Target population:
1.all gym/health club membership holders in the united states

Survey population:
1. a stratified random sample of gym/health club memberships from the obese states

sampling frame:list of all membership holders in each sample category.ie mississippi, alabama, west virginia,louisiana, and kentucky

What effect does academic class standing have on usership of the Rec center among KSU students?

Target population: All full-time KSU unergrads registered for the current term (according to registrar).

Survey population: stratified random sample of current KSU undergrads at each class standing level

Sampling frame: list of all current KSU undergrads in each sample category: freshman, sophomore, junior, senior
